After FTX, Esports Team TSM Chooses to Partner with Avalanche

On March 7, Avalanche announced an exclusive partnership with Swift, the parent company of one of North America's largest esports organizations, Team SoloMid (TSM). Under the agreement, TSM will build a custom subnet on Avalanche and use AVAX tokens as gas for the Blitz on-chain gaming platform.

Additionally, the esports team, founded by Vietnamese-American brothers, plans to host Avalanche-branded tournaments on the Blitz subnet. The platform has also selected payment company Core to facilitate digital asset purchases and storage.

John Wu, President of Ava Labs, commented:

“Custom subnets on Avalanche will enable organizations like TSM to benefit from fast transaction speeds and scalability while maintaining security for millions of users.”

As one of the largest esports organizations globally, TSM gained prominence with its "undefeated" League of Legends (LoL) team, while Blitz plays a significant role in LoL as well as AAA games like Apex Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics, boasting over 30 million users.

Through this collaboration with Avalanche, TSM aims to attract millions of gamers into the Web3 space. Previously, TSM ended its major sponsorship deal with the now-bankrupt FTX in November 2022. At the time, the two giants had a $210 million, 10-year agreement.
