Another Memecoin "Invented" by Vitalik Buterin Surges

After THE, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has humorously “created” another memecoin, DIE, which has also seen an astonishing price surge.

Another Memecoin by Vitalik Buterin Soars Thousands of Percent

As reported by Coin68, Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin playfully suggested on Twitter that it would be interesting to create a coin with the ticker THE. His reasoning was that "the" is the most commonly used word in English, appearing in nearly every sentence. Buterin implied that THE would be constantly referenced, making it a clever way to "shill" the project.

Following Buterin's tweet, numerous shitcoins with the ticker THE were created on Ethereum, drawing a significant number of investors into the “lottery.”

Among these, THE Protocol (THE) was the most successful, reaching a trading volume of $346 million on Uniswap within just 24 hours of its launch. THE also contributed to a surge in both user numbers and trading volume on Ethereum's top DEX, returning to peak levels not seen since July 2022.

On the evening of October 20, Buterin tweeted again, revealing that the German word for “THE” is “DIE,” suggesting it could be another intriguing coin ticker.

As anticipated, a slew of memecoins named DIE began to appear.

Notably, Die Protocol (DIE) saw its value surge by 5,500% within 12 hours, according to data from DEX Tools. The trading volume of this memecoin has reached approximately $23 million since its inception.

The excitement didn’t stop there. By midday on October 21, Huobi announced it would list DIE, raising further questions about the platform’s listing process.

Most of these memecoins are highly risky. Coin68 does NOT recommend investing in the projects mentioned above.
