Arbitrum Announces Airdrop for DAO Projects in Its Ecosystem
Following its recent airdrop for early adopters, Arbitrum has now unveiled a new airdrop allocation specifically for DAO projects within its ecosystem.

Arbitrum Announces Airdrop for DAO Projects in Its Ecosystem
On Twitter, Arbitrum stated that distributing governance tokens to a broader range of entities is crucial. Consequently, the Layer-2 ecosystem has decided to allocate a portion of its airdrop to DAO organizations that meet certain criteria.
The total amount of tokens allocated will be approximately 113 million ARB, representing 1.13% of the total supply.
“DAO projects on Arbitrum with a Treasury fund will be eligible for this airdrop. An exception to this rule is Protocol Guild, a team of core developers and contributors working on Ethereum.”
Only projects on Arbitrum with a DAO & a community treasury were eligible to participate in this distribution.

The only exception to this rule is the inclusion of the @ProtocolGuild, a collective of Ethereum core devs & contributors.

Arbitrum clarified that this airdrop does not equate to a Grant program. Therefore, there will be future allocations under the Grant category to provide additional funding for projects within the ecosystem to further develop the network.
The top 10 projects receiving the largest airdrop allocations include familiar names such as Treasure, GMX, Sushiswap, and Curve. To learn more about notable projects within the Arbitrum ecosystem, you can check out the article linked below.

This additional token allocation process by Arbitrum is crucial for fostering development and retaining users, especially as on-chain data shows a growing trend of capital seeking out ecosystems without existing tokens to "hunt" for airdrops.
