ASICS Teams Up with Solana and STEPN to Launch Special Edition Sneakers
In a continuation of Solana's strategy to bridge the gap between the digital and physical worlds, the blockchain platform has announced an exciting new collaboration. After opening physical stores and unveiling a custom smartphone, Solana is now partnering with renowned sneaker brand ASICS and the Move-to-Earn project STEPN to release a special edition running shoe.

During the Solana Breakpoint conference in Lisbon, Portugal (November 4-7), Solana revealed its partnership with ASICS and STEPN to launch a limited series of running shoes. Part of the "UI Collection," these sneakers are built on ASICS’s GT-2000™ 11 platform and come in classic black and white with a distinctive Solana-branded gradient on the heel. The shoes will be available exclusively on ui.asics.com with no purchase limits.

Each pair is priced at 200 USDC on Solana, covering global shipping and taxes. Buyers will need to use the Solana Pay app to place their orders. The ordering window is open now until 02:59 PM UTC+7 on November 8th. The sneakers are expected to ship starting March 2023.

Additionally, each purchaser will receive an NFT from ASICS as a proof of purchase.
STEPN will also airdrop 1,001 NFT sneakers from the ASICS x STEPN “OG” Solana Realm collection to holders of the ASICS purchase NFT. The Move-to-Earn project will track wallet addresses holding the ASICS NFT and randomly distribute the sneakers. STEPN plans to snapshot wallets and execute the airdrop within November.

Previously, ASICS had collaborated with STEPN to release branded NFT sneaker collections.
In 2022, Solana has been actively expanding into the physical realm, including the announcement of its Saga smartphone and the opening of physical retail stores.
