Avalanche Faces "Freeze" Again Within a Week

Avalanche Faces "Freeze" Again Within a Week

Avalanche has once again encountered issues with its C-Chain, halting block production on the evening of March 26. This marks the second disruption of its kind in the past seven days.

On March 26, Wu Blockchain reported that Avalanche's C-Chain faced another outage, stopping block production from 5:30 PM (VN time). Data from the block explorer SnowTrace confirmed this issue.

Shortly thereafter, the account @kasperbaobei commented on Wu Blockchain's announcement, noting that the outage affected several validators and that a v1.9.16 patch had been released to address the problem.

Avalanche and Ava Labs have yet to provide an official update on the situation, and co-founder Kevin Sekniqi's account appears to be inactive.

In the comments section, many expressed concern over the fact that this is the second such incident within a week. Some speculated that Avalanche might soon break Solana's record for "freezes." Historically, few blockchains have matched Solana and Polygon's track records for disruptions.

As of now, Avalanche has resumed block production and transaction processing normally. The price of AVAX has shown minimal volatility during the blockchain's downtime.
