Axie Infinity Launches Homeland – A Game Mode Featuring Land NFTs
Axie Infinity has unveiled the alpha version of Homeland, its highly anticipated game mode utilizing land NFTs.
Following initial teasers from February 2021, Axie Infinity has officially launched Homeland, a gameplay mode centered around Land NFTs.
Homeland is a new game mode within Axie Infinity that leverages land NFTs. Players who own Land NFTs can now cultivate their plots to gather resources for the development of their land.

The Homeland mode will feature several key activities:
- Collecting and storing resources.
- Optimizing Axies' tasks to maximize farming efficiency.
- Building structures on your land to store resources, craft new tools, and increase the number of Axies you can own.
- Crafting items and weapons for exploration.
- Trading items with other players.
- Competing with other players on leaderboards for both land development and Axie battles.
- Sharing designs and layouts for land to enhance aesthetics and effectiveness.
- Exploring the secrets of the Lunacia world.
At launch, Homeland will only be available for PC and exclusively for Axie Infinity players who own Land NFTs. The game developers will open feedback channels for players to report any bugs or suggest improvements.

In the future, Homeland will gradually incorporate additional features such as AXS token integration, Axie NFTs, in-game trading mechanics, land enhancements, collaborative events, and non-land gameplay modes.
This is the latest development from Axie Infinity following a tumultuous 2022. The Ronin hack, which caused the most significant loss in crypto history, has overshadowed Axie’s achievements over the past year, including the release of Axie Origin and AxieCon. Nonetheless, the downturn in the GameFi trend has significantly impacted AXS token prices, despite the project discontinuing the SLP reward token.
AXS prices showed little reaction to the launch of the Homeland game mode, instead slightly adjusting in line with the broader crypto market on December 28.
