Base Chooses Chainlink as Its Oracle Data Provider
Base, the new Ethereum layer-2 solution developed by Coinbase, has integrated Chainlink to provide secure off-chain price data for its newly launched testnet.

Base Partners with Chainlink for Off-Chain Data
The integration announced today is significant for Coinbase's layer-2 platform. In addition, Base has joined the Chainlink SCALE program, which was introduced by the leading oracle provider in late December 2022. As part of this partnership, Base will partially cover the costs for Chainlink services on its network and reduce gas fees for Chainlink nodes when reporting oracle data on Base.

“We’re excited to integrate with Chainlink and participate in the Chainlink SCALE program to empower developers with the crucial data and services they need to build their applications.”
Chainlink’s oracle network is designed to help smart contracts and applications securely and decentralized access off-chain data. It is the dominant oracle network in the industry, with over 650,000 active users, according to data from Dune Analytics.
