Additionally, 150 projects from the BNB accelerator program will be integrated into Google Cloud’s startup support initiative. Gwendolyn Regina, Director of Investments at BNB Chain, stated:
“Google Cloud is a strong Web2 player that has made significant strides in Web3. It's crucial for us to partner with major players who share our vision and DNA.”
This partnership with BNB Chain follows a series of moves by Google into the Web3 space, including their agreement with Aptos Labs in April. Earlier this summer, Google Cloud also introduced cryptocurrency malware detection services and established a specialized team to develop blockchain and Web3 applications.
At the time, Amit Zavery, VP of Google Cloud, commented that although Web3 is still in its early stages, “the market holds tremendous potential, with many customers asking us to increase support for Web3 and cryptocurrency-related technologies.”
