Within the initial 30 minutes, more than 11 million LINK tokens were staked on v0.2, and the pool designated for Community Stakers has officially reached capacity, according to an announcement from Chainlink earlier today (08/12).
As previously reported by Coin68, the project began encouraging users already participating in v0.1 staking since late November to migrate their assets to v0.2, with the expanded pool now accommodating up to 45 million LINK tokens - equivalent to 8% of the current circulating supply.
Of this total, 40.875 million LINK tokens are allocated to the Community Staker group, with the remainder for Node Operator Stakers. According to the announcement, regular users can stake up to 15,000 LINK tokens during the first 4 days of v0.2's launch. Subsequently, from December 7th to 11th, the project will open access to everyone, allowing anyone to stake a maximum of 15,000 LINK tokens, provided the pool has not reached capacity.
Chainlink is the most prominent oracle network in the cryptocurrency industry, providing real-world data to blockchain applications. The project first introduced its staking model in December last year to enhance the utility of its token, generate additional earnings for LINK holders, and bolster network security. Initially, staking was focused on securing the ETH/USD price data feed, with a pool limit set at 25 million LINK tokens.

For the newly launched v2.0, the project aims to introduce more flexible unstaking mechanisms, improve platform security measures, and implement several optimization updates. Its modular architecture enhances adaptability, making it easier to deploy upgrades and improvements in the future.
Overall, the LINK price has shown limited response, fluctuating mostly within the $14-16 USD range since the launch of v0.2.
