EigenLayer introduced the concept of Restaking to the market, unlocking the liquidity of ETH Staking and enhancing the security of projects through Ethereum's Validator network.
Ethereum validators can register to become validators on EigenLayer. This dual-role allows them to operate on the Ethereum platform and simultaneously manage AVS on EigenLayer, earning additional income.
AVS (Actively Validated Services) are designed to provide security for Layer 1, Layer 2 chains, Bridges, Oracles, or any dApp requiring such services. AVS can offer security services to multiple entities simultaneously based on the benefits received.
Restaked rollups are solutions designed to enhance decentralized verification and improve fast finality with dedicated sequencing for existing rollup platforms. Rollups, a Layer 2 scaling technology, address blockchain scalability issues by processing user transactions off-chain and then submitting them to the main blockchain for validation.
The Six AVS Projects on EigenLayer:
AltLayer
AltLayer’s Restaked rollups AVS integrates MACH technology, enabling rollups to achieve fast finality (under 10 seconds) using EigenLayer staking support, significantly enhancing rollup performance.
AltLayer has recently introduced staking for its native token ALT, and launched MACH Alpha and fast finality services for Layer-2 rollups.
