EigenLayer's TVL Surges 205% After Opening Second Round of Re-staking
Following the increase in the Liquid Restaking limit to 100,000 Ethereum (ETH), EigenLayer’s Total Value Locked (TVL) experienced a significant surge within a few hours.
Key Highlights:
- TVL Growth: EigenLayer raised the restaking limit to 100,000 ETH (approximately $165 million). After this announcement, the platform's assets soared from $78 million to $238 million, marking an impressive 205% increase.
- Re-staking Round Two: The second round of re-staking quickly filled with stETH, rETH, and cbETH. Future increases in the Liquid Staking Token (LST) limit will require approval from EigenLayer's multi-signature governance system.
TVL and Deposit Statistics:
- TVL Increase: Statistics from DefiLlama show a sharp increase in TVL from July 15 to the present.
- Deposits: Data from Dune Analytics tracks the inflow of assets into EigenLayer since June 13.
Mainnet Implementation:
- Initial Limits: At mainnet launch, EigenLayer set several limits for liquid and native restaking services. Liquid restaking accepted a maximum of 3,200 tokens and 32 tokens per address. Native restaking paused after 9,600 ETH were locked on the platform.
NFT Launch:
- EigenWorlds Collection: EigenLayer recently introduced an NFT collection named EigenWorlds, offering free mints to users until August 30. While the benefits of holding these NFTs are not yet disclosed, they may serve as a commemoration of this milestone. There are three types of NFTs available, with each wallet eligible to mint only one:
- Restaker: For current EigenLayer users
- Collector: For wallets that minted a Zora NFT
- Base Layer: Available to all users\
