Gnosis Confirms Token Airdrop for 21,000 Users

The asset management platform Gnosis Safe has confirmed it will be conducting an airdrop for over 21,000 users ahead of its DAO formation.

In the early hours of today, Gnosis Safe confirmed it will distribute an airdrop to users following the approval of a proposal on February 9. At that time, GNO saw a hot spike of up to 50% immediately after the project revealed a series of enticing airdrop programs.

Specifically, 21,935 Safes (users) with 45,000 eligible Ethereum addresses will receive the airdrop, with an average distribution of 2,279 SAFE tokens per user.

SAFE is the governance token for the Gnosis ecosystem through SafeDAO and is used to distribute value from the protocol to its users.

Last month, this smart contract-based asset management platform closed a funding round with a total value of $100 million. Additionally, the project announced a rebranding to Safe to distinguish itself from the original Gnosis development team. Members voted to launch SafeDAO and the SAFE token.

Gnosis Safe is a solution that enables users to set up multi-signature wallets to mitigate security risks and store assets in a decentralized manner. Gnosis Safe currently manages over $38 billion in assets and is chosen by numerous DAOs, organizations, and individuals in the industry, including ConsenSys, Aave, and Synthetix.

The project is now in the process of establishing the Safe Foundation, based in Switzerland. This organization will oversee intellectual property, the GitHub repository, and investment strategies, among other aspects. The foundation itself will also issue SAFE tokens.
