Injective Implements Layer-2 to Support Ethereum Applications
Injective has joined the ranks of blockchain platforms unveiling layer-2 solutions compatible with Ethereum, recently announcing inEVM.

Injective Implements Layer-2 to Support Ethereum Applications
Injective Protocol, a layer-1 blockchain built on the Cosmos platform, announced on September 19 that it has deployed a testnet for the inEVM layer-2 solution, enabling Ethereum applications to operate seamlessly within its ecosystem.

inEVM was developed by Injective in collaboration with Caldera, a team specializing in custom rollup solutions.
By supporting the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), inEVM allows developers of Ethereum dApps to easily connect and deploy their applications on this layer-2 solution, thereby opening new opportunities for Injective.
Unlike other EVM solutions for layer-1 platforms such as Aurora by NEAR Protocol or Neon by Solana, inEVM is a rollup directly linked with Injective, leveraging the security features of its parent blockchain.

The launch of inEVM is part of Injective's strategy to establish the "Electro Chain" network, expanding its layer-2 ecosystem and interoperability with other blockchains.
A representative from Injective shared:
"Electro Chain is a network comprising multiple rollups with their own virtual machine environments, catering to the development needs of diverse teams while ensuring scalability and security."
Following today's testnet event, inEVM aims to launch its mainnet in Q4 2023.
The price of the INJ token has shown minimal fluctuation following Injective's deployment of the inEVM layer-2 solution.

The trend of building layer-2 solutions continues to expand in the cryptocurrency industry. In September alone, the market has witnessed the emergence of second-layer scaling solutions including opBNB, Manta Pacific, Astar zkEVM, Ancient8 Chain, and Canto.
