Kevin Rose, co-founder of Moonbirds, has liquidated over $1.3 million worth of NFTs

Kevin Rose, co-founder of the Moonbirds NFT collection, has liquidated over $1.3 million worth of high-value NFTs and also personally revoked ownership of two of his ENS domains.

According to his recent statements on X dated March 9th, Rose explained that he sold a portion of his NFT holdings, expressing continued belief in the long-term prospects of cryptocurrencies and the superior performance of classic projects. However, he remains committed to his passion for collecting NFTs.

Data from NFTScan shows that over the past 16 days, Rose sold a Tyler Hobbs Fidenza NFT for 142 ETH and a unique piece by artist XCOPY for 151.2 ETH. Based on an ETH market price of $3,960, these transactions amounted to over $1.3 million USD.

During this period, Rose also chose to burn two of his ENS domains and revoke access rights to tokens in cryptocurrency wallets through decentralized applications (DApps) associated with these domains.

"As usual, I prefer diversification rather than putting all eggs in one basket. Additionally, I am adjusting the size of my collection to align with what I am willing to risk in the short term," Rose explained.

Despite the article being subsequently deleted, it's noted that Yuga Labs acquired Rose's company, PROOF, the previous month, although the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.
