Near Protocol Aims to Build an "All-in-One" Platform
Near Protocol is launching its “Blockchain Operating System” (BOS), a platform designed to unify Web3 activities and enhance the user experience.

Near Protocol's Vision for an All-in-One Platform
At the ETHDenver conference, Near Protocol co-founder Illia Polosukhin shared that the project is prioritizing products that can integrate and interact within a single platform called the Blockchain Operating System (BOS).
Polosukhin explained that BOS will serve as a comprehensive hub for Web3 activities such as crypto transactions, NFT exhibitions, and social networking. He added that this platform will be compatible with all blockchains, with Near acting as the gateway. Currently, BOS supports the Near chain and EVM-compatible chains.
Today, we announce the next evolution for #Web3.

The first release from Near will be Near Alpha, a Web3 social network that allows users to share and update the latest information about the crypto industry.
With this initiative, Near Protocol aims to address user experience challenges in the Web3 space. Polosukhin noted:
“As users today, it’s challenging to find a single place to access all Web3 applications, with no search mechanism or navigation between them. Near’s operating system is designed to solve these issues.”
He further elaborated:
“The user interface can be integrated into a single platform that works with both Web2 and Web3 ecosystems and with any wallet. In the future, we plan to offer a wallet from one chain that interacts with other chains through seamless connectivity.”

According to Messari, Near Protocol is currently ranked as the 35th largest blockchain with a market capitalization of approximately $1.96 billion. The NEAR token is trading at $2 at the time of writing.
This move by Near is seen as a shift from its previous focus on building Layer-1 infrastructure to now concentrating on user experience. The ecosystem had a challenging year in 2022, with key metrics such as TVL and user numbers showing declines.
