Neon Labs Set to Complete EVM Infrastructure on Solana by End of 2022

Neon Labs, the solution providing an EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) bridge on Solana, is set to launch its infrastructure by the end of this year.

Neon Labs plans to complete the integration of the EVM infrastructure on Solana by December 12, 2022, according to CEO Marina Guryeva.

The EVM is a standardized virtual machine designed to facilitate DeFi applications on the Ethereum ecosystem. However, due to Solana’s distinct infrastructure, this solution hasn’t been natively supported, creating hurdles for projects that are "Ethereum-compatible" to be easily deployed on Solana.

This means that Neon Labs could serve as a suitable gateway for Ethereum-native projects, enabling DApps to seamlessly migrate and expand on Solana.

Neon has indicated that prominent Ethereum ecosystem projects such as Aave and Curve are already prepared to utilize this EVM infrastructure. "A strategic approach is to develop products across various Layer-1 blockchains," CEO Guryeva noted.
