Coinfest Asia 2026 Splits Bali Festival Into Institutional, Builder, and Trader Tracks

The Bali crypto festival returns 20-21 August with three intent-based tracks, four Asia go-to-market briefings, and a speaker list running from Charles Hoskinson to Tether's Indochina lead.

Coinfest Asia 2026 Splits Bali Festival Into Institutional, Builder, and Trader Tracks

Coinfest Asia returns to Melasti Beach, Bali on 20–21 August 2026, and the format is different this year. Instead of one shared agenda, the festival splits its programming into three intent-based tracks — Institutional, Builders, and Traders — that any ticket holder can move between.

The event is organized by Indonesia Crypto Network (ICN) through its media arm Coinvestasi, and has grown from a regional meetup into one of the largest crypto gatherings in Asia. The 2026 edition keeps the beach-festival setting but adds structure: tracks are defined by what you came to do, not by what your business card says.

Three tracks, one ticket

Institutional Track — built around digital asset adoption, stablecoin integration, and tokenization. It carries the Institutional Summit powered by ICEX Group (ICEX, Crypto Asset Clearing International, and International Crypto Custodian), a series of closed-door stablecoin and tokenization roundtables, keynotes, and panels aimed at regulators, banks, and enterprises.

Builders Track — for developers and startups across AI, blockchain, and infrastructure. Programming includes a Gemini AI Masterclass, the "What the Hack!" Web3 developer course, an AI Vibe Code competition, and sessions on product and ecosystem growth.

Traders Track — market narratives, strategy, and desk-level content. Headline item is the Alpha Arena Grand Final, a global trading competition run by MEXC Ventures, alongside an Alpha Hunting Masterclass, a Yapper Masterclass, a Bitcoin crash course, a Live Degen Experience, and trading panels.

Asia Go-To-Market sessions

The other new addition is a set of country briefings called Asia Go-To-Market Sessions, each run with a local ecosystem partner: Japan with WebX 2026, Malaysia with MYBW 2026, Indonesia with ICN, and India with India Blockchain Week 2026. The sessions cover regulation, user behavior, growth channels, and distribution in each market.

"Asia is not one single market. Each country has its own users, regulations, culture, and growth channels," said Joditha Winatajaya, Head of Event at Coinfest Asia. "Through Asia Go-To-Market Sessions, we want to connect the audiences with the right local ecosystems, all in one place."

Worth noting for readers here: Vietnam does not have its own GTM session in the announced lineup. The closest proxies are the Indonesia and Malaysia briefings, which share a lot of the same P2P-heavy, stablecoin-first user behavior.

Speaker list

Confirmed speakers include Charles Hoskinson (Founder, Input Output Group), Felix Fan (CEO, Trust Wallet), Alexander Svanevik (CEO, Nansen), Nick See Tong (APAC & Singapore Lead, Base), Iñaki Moreno (Strategic Partnerships Lead, Web3 & AI, Google), William Sutanto (CEO, INDODAX), Ploy Boonyavee (Thailand/Indochina Country Manager, Tether), Gabriel Rey (CEO, TRIV Group), Calvin Kizana (CEO, Tokocrypto), Angela Ang (APAC Managing Director and Singapore President, BitGo), Tianwei Liu (CEO, StraitsX), Thomas Chou (Head of APAC, Canton Foundation), and Akshat Vaidya (Co-Founder, Maelstrom).

Supporting companies listed so far: ICEX, CACI, ICC, Indodax, MEXC Ventures, Triv, Tokocrypto, Binance, Duitku, ClickHouse, CockroachDB, BYDFi, Zoomex, FundedXyz, WalletConnect, GOIDR, and GudangKripto, with more to be announced.

What this means if you trade from Vietnam

Two sessions are directly relevant. Tether's Thailand/Indochina country manager is on the stablecoin programming — Vietnam sits inside that coverage area, and USDT is the settlement layer for most local P2P and OTC flow, so any policy or product signal there matters more here than a generic L1 roadmap panel. Second, the MEXC Ventures Alpha Arena Grand Final is a live read on how competition-driven volume is being used to acquire traders in Southeast Asia, a tactic several exchanges are now running in the Vietnamese market.

The institutional side is a slower burn: ICEX, CACI, and ICC are Indonesia's licensed exchange, clearing, and custody stack. Vietnam has no equivalent live today, which makes Indonesia the nearest working template for how a regulated market structure gets assembled next door.

Details

More speakers and partners are expected before the doors open. We will cover anything that lands from the stablecoin and tokenization roundtables, since that is where the decisions relevant to Vietnamese liquidity usually get made first.
