Bitcoin kicked off "Uptober" with a bang, surging 4% to $119,450 on October 1st — its highest level in seven weeks. The rally was fueled by expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates, along with October's historically bullish track record.

With this move, Bitcoin's market cap hit $2.37 trillion, overtaking Amazon, according to data from CompaniesMarketCap. October is also considered BTC's most consistently "green" month, with 10 out of the last 12 years posting positive returns.

Analysts argue that weakening U.S. labor data could pressure the Fed to keep cutting rates, driving more capital into risk assets like crypto.

It wasn't just Bitcoin — altcoins ripped higher across the board: Ether (ETH) jumped 5% to $4,390, while Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), and Hyperliquid (HYPE) all gained more than 6% in the past 24 hours.

Observers note that if Bitcoin breaks decisively above $120,000, the market could be looking at fresh all-time highs heading into year-end.
