US Spot Bitcoin ETFs Post $731M Inflow, Largest Since January

What happened: U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of approximately $730.9 million on Thursday, September 4, 2026—their biggest single-day intake since January. BlackRock’s IBIT led with $454 million, followed by Ark/21Shares ARKB at $138 million and Fidelity’s FBTC at $74 million. Total net assets in spot bitcoin ETFs crossed $103 billion for the first time, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for well over half of the total. The surge in inflows was attributed to dovish comments from Fed Governor Christopher Waller earlier in the week.

Why it matters: The inflow reflects renewed institutional appetite for bitcoin exposure, particularly through regulated ETF products. However, the bullish sentiment was short-lived, as macroeconomic data released the next day (see next story) reversed much of the optimism. The $731 million figure is a snapshot of market enthusiasm that proved vulnerable to shifting macro signals, highlighting the volatility and sensitivity of crypto markets to policy and economic news.
