Optimism Unveils OP Stack and Ambitions to Become a "Superchain"

This morning (October 18), Optimism introduced a new scaling framework known as OP Stack.

On its official Twitter account, Optimism announced its latest solution with the ambition of transforming the platform into a “Superchain.”

“Our top priority right now is to launch Bedrock on the mainnet. However, OP Stack will open up a new world in the future. We believe that with the power of OSS, a new structure will emerge. That structure is Superchain.”

In the announcement blog, Optimism described OP Stack as a modular framework with high scalability. It’s not just another “rollup or optimistic solution.” According to Optimism, this framework will lay the foundation for their development roadmap towards a Modular Blockchain.

Additionally, OP Stack will support atomic cross-chain interactions. This means that different chains will be able to seamlessly integrate with the toolkit, facilitating block creation and interaction across chains.

Recently, Optimism has faced some negative news despite a series of successful “Incentive” programs that attracted a significant amount of TVL. Nevertheless, with the allure of the “Layer-2” keyword, Optimism may continue to attract attention from the community and various projects in the near future.
