PancakeSwap Expands to Layer-2 Linea

PancakeSwap, a prominent decentralized exchange (DEX), has officially integrated with Linea, the seventh blockchain to support its services. Linea is a layer-2 solution developed by Consensys, the company behind the leading Web3 wallet, MetaMask.

Integration Details:

• Linea's Technology: As an Ethereum layer-2 solution, Linea is built with zkEVM technology, combining Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) capabilities with zero-knowledge proofs to ensure data integrity.
• Benefits: The integration with Linea aims to reduce gas fees, improve transaction speeds, and enhance capital efficiency for PancakeSwap users.

Future Plans:

• New Features: Besides basic functionalities like swapping and liquidity provision, PancakeSwap plans to introduce farming features on Linea in the coming months. This will allow liquidity providers (LPs) to earn CAKE tokens as rewards for their capital contributions.

Previous Collaborations:

• Testnet Partnership: In June, PancakeSwap collaborated with Linea as an ecosystem partner during its testnet phase. The transition to mainnet deployment was a logical progression from this initial partnership.

PancakeSwap’s Blockchain Network:

• Existing Integrations: Before expanding to Linea, PancakeSwap was already available on six other blockchains: BNB Chain, Ethereum, Aptos, zk-rollup layer-2 solutions like Polygon zkEVM and zkSync Era, and more recently, Arbitrum.

Market Position:

• Growth and Reach: Since its launch in 2020, PancakeSwap has grown to become the second-largest decentralized exchange, following Uniswap. Despite the limited number of DEXs currently integrated with Linea, PancakeSwap joins other notable platforms like SyncSwap and KyberSwap in launching on this promising layer-2 network.

The expansion to Linea marks a significant milestone for PancakeSwap, further enhancing its multi-chain capabilities and offering users improved transaction efficiency and lower costs.
