Polygon Partners with NGO to Raise Ocean Awareness
On October 6, Polygon announced a partnership with the Ocean Conservation Education and Exploration Foundation (OCEEF) to boost user awareness.
Users can now explore the RV Odyssey, one of the most advanced ocean research vessels globally, through innovative metaverse initiatives and new forms of entertainment.

Polygon shared that the purpose of this partnership is to offer an engaging interactive experience where participants can make significant decisions regarding the RV Odyssey through immersive and metaverse interactions.
Participants will play a crucial role in deciding the vessel’s research journey and engage in various metaverse and Web3 missions.
At the Green Blockchain Summit 2.0 organized by Polygon, OCEEF founder Alex Moukas stated:
"By partnering with Polygon and leveraging their carbon-neutral technology, we aim to democratize access to Web3 and provide participants with the ability to influence the future research and journey of our project."
Additionally, student teams are welcome to apply for funding from OCEEF. In July, Polygon committed to making its blockchain greener by the end of the year and allocated $20 million to climate-related projects. Since then, Polygon has achieved carbon neutrality, removing 104,794 tons of greenhouse gases—more than the entire CO2 output of the network since its inception.
Furthermore, a notable recent partnership for Polygon includes a deal with Starbucks. The renowned coffee chain has chosen Polygon to build its NFT-based rewards system.
