Salesforce, the world’s leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform, has teamed up with layer-2 blockchain Polygon to develop an NFT-based rewards system.

On March 16, the cloud computing giant confirmed it will soon roll out a solution for NFT-based loyalty rewards. Salesforce’s website states: “Track real-time blockchain data of Ethereum and Polygon collections within your CRM.”

Loyalty programs are considered a key strategy for customer retention, extending the customer lifecycle, and laying the groundwork for business growth. According to Smile.io, loyalty programs can generate around 40% of a business's revenue.

In recent years, blockchain technology has increasingly been adopted in strategies aimed at enhancing customer-business connections, particularly in rewards programs. For instance, Starbucks, the renowned coffee chain in Western countries, chose Polygon to build its NFT-based loyalty rewards system back in September 2022.
