Polygon Unveils Direct Bridge to zkEVM Solution

The Polygon ecosystem has introduced a direct bridge to its zkEVM solution, aiming to enhance user experience with several notable improvements.

On Polygon's official Twitter, the project shared details about the new zkEVM Bridge.

The bridge utilizes Zero-Knowledge technology, featuring two contracts at each end: Ethereum and Polygon zkEVM. These contracts operate entirely algorithmically without reliance on third parties.

This version of the bridge includes interface refinements to improve user convenience. Currently, the zkEVM Bridge supports ERC-20 tokens as well as ERC-777 tokens.

Earlier, in March 2023, Polygon announced the Beta mainnet for its zkEVM solution. However, on-chain data indicates that capital flows have largely been directed towards another zkEVM project, zkSync Era, which launched its mainnet around the same time. With this latest update to its bridging solution, Polygon zkEVM aims to simplify user entry and attract more capital into its new solution ecosystem.
