Pudgy Penguins Launches Pudgy World Game on zkSync Blockchain

Renowned NFT project Pudgy Penguins has announced the upcoming release of its web3 game titled Pudgy World, developed on the Layer-2 zkSync Era blockchain.

Pudgy World marks a significant transition for the project, moving from a collection of NFT avatar images (PFP) into the gaming metaverse world.

The announcement comes at a time of notable success for the project. According to data from OpenSea, the floor price of Pudgy Penguins NFTs has nearly doubled over the past two weeks. Additionally, authentic Pudgy Toy plush toys are now being sold in 2,000 Walmart stores across the United States.

The alpha version of Pudgy World will be open to all players, scheduled for release in Q1 2024. However, NFT holders and purchasers of Pudgy Toys will receive exclusive privileges and unique promotions within the gaming world.

Currently, there is limited information about the game, other than it will feature two "hero characters," Pudgy and Peaches, guiding players through endless adventures.

Explaining the choice to build on the zkSync blockchain, the project expressed:
