Safe Multisig Wallet Integrates User Emails with SafeAuth Toolkit

Safe users can now create a new multisig wallet using their email instead of a seed phrase, thanks to the new SafeAuth solution.

In collaboration with Web3Auth, Safe wallet has introduced a new toolkit called SafeAuth. This solution allows users to log in to their Smart Accounts through traditional Web2 authentication methods like Google Accounts.

SafeAuth will be compatible with the current Safe multisig wallet and will be available on popular EVM platforms such as Polygon, Optimism, and Gnosis.

Account Abstraction (AA) wallet solutions like Safe are currently garnering significant interest within the DeFi community due to their development potential. However, since the ERC-4337 standard (which supports AA) was implemented on the Ethereum mainnet, this product segment has not yet been widely adopted.

According to statistics at the time of writing, only 1% of wallet addresses older than five weeks have integrated the ERC-4337 standard. Additionally, this model has not been fully optimized and requires future updates.

Regarding recent updates from Safe, on December 3rd, the project identified a vulnerability in module 4337 version 0.1. The new version (0.2) will undergo a technical review before being released in the coming weeks. The project also recommends that applications integrating the old version disable all functions until the new version is officially deployed.
