Sui Confirms No Plans for Early Airdrop

Sui, one of the most anticipated blockchains in the community, has confirmed that there are currently no plans for an early airdrop.

In an announcement on the morning of October 22, Sui Network clarified that there are no airdrop plans for users, despite recent excitement within the community.

The project also emphasized that SUI has not been issued, listed, or traded anywhere and advised users to be cautious of scams and misinformation related to airdrops or SUI tokens.

The response to Sui's tweet has been mixed, with some users persistently asking "when airdrop," while others have expressed frustration, suggesting that a lack of an airdrop might drive investors away from the project.

This announcement has disappointed many, especially those hoping for a high-value airdrop akin to what Aptos delivered recently. However, it’s important to acknowledge that airdrop or retroactive campaigns are long-term endeavors and not as straightforward as in the early days.

For those unfamiliar, Sui is the debut blockchain project from Mysten Labs, which was valued at $2 billion after closing a $300 million funding round in September. Founded by a veteran team formerly involved with Meta’s (formerly Facebook) Diem blockchain and Move programming language, Sui is making waves in the space.

In addition to Sui, another project rising from the ashes of Diem is Aptos (APT), which continues to make headlines with its recent mainnet launch, multiple exchange listings, and a flurry of airdrops last week.
