Tech Giant Dell Launches Node on Hedera Network
Tech behemoth Dell is set to join the governing council of Hedera, a proof-of-stake blockchain, alongside other industry giants like Google, FIS, and Abrdn.

Following its appointment to Hedera Hashgraph's governing council, Dell will launch a consensus node to validate transactions on the Hedera network, while also managing related software on the network.

David Frattura, Dell’s Senior Director of Technology Strategy, commented:
“Launching a node is a new learning experience for Dell. We are working to understand the policy implications and processes involved. What it takes to be part of a public ledger, and how Dell will actually operate this. I find this quite exciting.”
When asked about the potential for integrating Hedera into Dell’s applications, Frattura added:
“For any use case, I think it’s still a bit early. Dell is just beginning its development efforts; perhaps by the end of the year, we might see something. For now, participating in governance is enough.”
Hedera is a proof-of-stake blockchain similar to Algorand, Cardano, Ethereum, Tezos, and Polkadot. Its focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards attracts tech companies like Dell that are seeking solutions for environmental and societal issues.
Other major tech players also leveraging the Hedera network include IBM, which uses Hyperledger Fabric, and ServiceNow, which is integrating Hedera into its Now platform.
