Telegram, a popular messaging app within the crypto community, has officially introduced a revenue-sharing model where channel owners receive 50% of advertising revenue, while also implementing payments via TON.

In early April 2024, Telegram announced a new advertising model on its messaging app. Specifically, users looking to place ads on Telegram channels can now directly pay using Toncoin (TON).

Explaining the choice of TON as the payment currency, Telegram highlights its low transaction fees and fast network transaction speeds, making it cost-effective for advertisers.

According to Telegram, their new advertising model differs from other social media platforms by not targeting ads based on user data. Instead, advertisers can select specific channels where they want their ads to appear.
In addition, Telegram shares 50% of the ad revenue with channel owners, as reported by Coin68 in late February. Any Telegram channel with at least 1,000 subscribers can opt in to accept ads and receive half of the revenue generated.
Channel owners have the option to withdraw their earnings in TON tokens without any fees or use them to purchase other items within the app.
TON is currently trading around $5.25, showing minimal fluctuations over the past 24 hours. It's worth noting that TON has futures trading pairs on Binance but has not been listed as a spot asset yet.
