Mark your calendars for November 28th! The moment you've all been waiting for is here! Illuvium Beta 3: PVP is coming, and that's not all—we’re live on the @EpicGames Store! While you can’t download it just yet, add it to your wishlist and… pic.twitter.com/NNdpBLa1h8
The Beta 3 version will feature three game modes and three different play styles set within the Illuvium universe, including:
- Overworld: An open-world exploration game.
- Arena: An automatic battle strategy game.
- Zero: A city-building game supported on both mobile and desktop platforms.
A notable aspect of the Illuvium version on Epic Games Store is that it will not require a Web3 wallet (such as MetaMask) to start playing. Players are not required to own NFTs in this Open Beta version. This change aims to remove the “barrier” for traditional gamers, thus creating an opportunity to attract a large number of users to experience the game.
Kieran Warwick, co-founder of Illuvium, stated that this change will ensure the integrity and enhance the user experience in line with the game’s design. Requiring NFTs in a Web3 wallet could negatively impact players who focus solely on maximizing profits (Play-to-Earn), rather than striving to win in the most “honest” manner.
As reported by Coin68, Illuvium is an open-world RPG that allows players to complete missions and explore different lands to capture creatures known as Illuvials. In 2021, the project raised $38 million through an IDO and received support from several prominent investment funds, including Delphi Digital, YBB Foundation Ltd, Moonwhale Ventures, Blocksync Ventures, Quantstamp, Yield Guild Games, and Bitcoin.com. In June 2022, Illuvium completed a virtual land sale, generating over $72 million in revenue.
Following the announcement, Illuvium’s native token ILV saw a surge, rising more than 15% to $74 from an initial trading price of $65/ILV on Binance.
