Polygon Labs Introduces Layer-2 Chain Development Kit (CDK)

Polygon Labs has unveiled a new toolkit named Chain Development Kit (CDK), enabling developers to build Layer-2 solutions on Ethereum with Zero-Knowledge Proof mechanisms.

Polygon Labs Introduces Layer-2 Chain Development Kit (CDK)

The CDK represents an enhanced version of Supernet, a previous chain development toolkit by Polygon. This toolkit facilitates the seamless deployment of Layer-2 solutions directly on Ethereum's infrastructure.

According to Polygon Labs' announcement, Layer-2 solutions using CDK will be capable of integrating with the Shared ZK bridge, enhancing interoperability across different chains.

"Any developer can use Polygon CDK to deploy an L2 utilizing ZK Proof. Polygon CDK is an evolution of Supernets, empowering projects to build Appchain protocols akin to sidechains. Through CDK, all existing Supernets can upgrade their structure based on Polygon's ZK technology." - Polygon Labs emphasized.
This toolkit will support a protocol known as "Interop Layer," which aggregates all Zero-Knowledge Proofs from various chains within the Polygon ecosystem and sends them in one batch to Ethereum's mainnet infrastructure. This layer acts as a synthesizer of diverse state channels from Layer-2 chains, ensuring compatibility and connectivity between these networks.

Recently, Polygon Labs has contributed to developing independent networks for Immutable, IDEX, Palm Network, and Aavegotchi. With the Polygon 2.0 roadmap, the focus will shift towards establishing interconnected chains resembling structures seen in Cosmos or Polkadot, yet built on the Ethereum ecosystem foundation.
