[Update] zkSync Era Experiences Outage, No New Blocks for Past 3 Hours

Data from the zkSync Era Block Explorer—an essential tool for monitoring zkSync activity—shows that the blockchain has not been producing new blocks for the past 3 hours.

Update as of April 3:

The zkSync Era network has returned to normal operation after a 4-hour disruption.

The project explained that the issue was due to a problem with the database for the block queue, which caused the block production to be temporarily halted. However, the zkSync team identified the issue and resolved it within just 5 minutes.

zkSync is a Layer-2 solution under the zk-Rollups category on Ethereum, developed by Matter Labs. The project has garnered significant trust and support from major investment funds, with a total of $250 million raised across two funding rounds.

Moreover, zkSync is the first Layer-2 to launch zkEVM under the name zkSync Era and is attracting a large user base. Following Arbitrum's announcement of its airdrop, which reignited interest in retroactive rewards, the community has quickly moved assets to zkSync.
