Users Can Now Find USDT on Telegram
USDT has been integrated into Telegram's @wallet bot, expanding crypto trading capabilities for users.

Telegram Adds USDT Trading to Messaging Platform
According to CoinDesk, as of the evening of March 22, Telegram users can now send USDT – the largest stablecoin by market capitalization – directly within the messaging app.
The integration of cryptocurrency payments into messaging apps like Telegram effectively simplifies transactions to the same ease as sending texts or images. This move is a positive step toward broader adoption of crypto among everyday users globally.
In April 2022, Bitcoin (BTC) and Toncoin (TON) were added to the @wallet marketplace and integrated into chat functions within the app. However, Telegram representatives have clarified that the USDT integration and the wallet bot are entirely separate from the messaging application itself.
Stablecoins like USDT provide significant benefits without the volatility seen in Bitcoin or Ethereum. As such, they are crucial for users who wish to hold value within the crypto ecosystem, especially during market corrections.
As Coin68 previously reported, Telegram's journey into blockchain technology and the crypto space began in 2018 with the launch of The Open Network (TON). However, Telegram abandoned the project after being required to shut it down by the SEC in 2019. By 2022, the project was handed over to the community, with the TON Foundation taking over and reviving it.

Despite claiming operational independence, Telegram has maintained interest in the network. Evidence of this includes the user auction market in the form of NFTs built on the TON blockchain, which was launched in October of last year.
Currently, Toncoin is listed on multiple exchanges, and the latest update to the @Wallet Bot has added P2P crypto trading services.
