In the early hours of February 16, OpenAI, the AI company behind the world-renowned ChatGPT chatbot, made headlines with the announcement of its latest product. Named Sora, this AI model enables the creation of high-quality videos and lifelike imagery solely from textual descriptions.

According to initial reports, Sora can produce high-quality, nearly lifelike videos up to one minute in length, allowing users to customize intricate details such as content, scenes, layout, and colors using natural language. However, OpenAI acknowledges that the video model still has limitations, such as not simulating physical effects, ensuring cause-and-effect relationships, distinguishing left from right, and adhering to camera trajectories.
Currently, Sora has not been released to OpenAI's users due to safety and security concerns. The company states it will collaborate with technology and legal experts to ensure their product is not misused for generating fake news, harmful content, or copyright infringement.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has actively engaged with the community, receiving textual descriptions from followers and sharing videos created by Sora, demonstrating the immense potential of their new product.
Sora quickly garnered significant attention and discussion on social media platform X (Twitter), with many hailing it as a monumental advancement in AI technology.
Some users even shared a video created by AI from a text description a year ago and compared it with Sora, highlighting the rapid progress OpenAI has achieved in a short period.

However, concerns have been voiced about the rapid development of AI, which increasingly blurs the lines between reality and virtuality, potentially threatening jobs in the workforce.
In response, Worldcoin (WLD), which offers human identification via iris scanning to distinguish individuals from robots, has been mentioned as a way to differentiate from AI products. Notably, Worldcoin was also initiated by Sam Altman, although he is no longer actively promoting the project.
At the time of writing, the price of Worldcoin's WLD token has surged nearly 25%, likely driven by the news of OpenAI's launch of the Sora text-to-video tool.

In the past, WLD has experienced fluctuations due to news related to OpenAI, most recently internal turmoil within the company in November 2023, which saw Sam Altman ousted as CEO, only to be reinstated shortly thereafter.
Sam Altman has also recently stirred the tech community by proposing a $7 trillion USD call to "reshape the semiconductor industry" to aid in AI development.
