Yuga Labs co-founder "returns" as CEO

According to a statement on February 21st by Greg Solano on X, he will return to assume the position of CEO of Yuga Labs, replacing Daniel Alegre - former COO of Activision Blizzard - who served as Yuga Labs' CEO for approximately 10 months.

In his post, Garga described this move as a "return" to the role of CEO, although previously, only Alegre and former CEO Nicole Muniz were publicly recognized with that title.

Additionally, Garga announced several upcoming plans for his CEO tenure, including the division of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) into a subsidiary named "BAYC LLC"; a focus on Otherside and new updates; as well as the development of other gaming titles.

Last October, Yuga Labs announced staff layoffs as part of a restructuring plan under Alegre's leadership. At that time, Solano confirmed that Yuga Labs had over 120 employees following the layoffs.

Yuga Labs is best known for its NFT collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and ApeCoin APE, along with acquisitions of popular NFT projects including CryptoPunks, 10KTF, Meebits, and most recently, PROOF, the company behind the Moonbirds NFT project.
